About The Teacher

I have been teaching violin and viola in Simi Valley to students ages 5 through adult for over 30 years.  My teaching background includes training in the Suzuki method, which incorporates music listening, small steps, repetition and regular practice.

My music degree is from CSU Northridge, and I am a member of the Music Teachers Association of California as well as The American String Teacher’s Association.  These organizations offer evaluated opportunities for students who enjoy the challenge.  I currently perform with Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra and other local groups.

Other activities I enjoy include bike riding and hiking.  I have put thousands of miles on my recumbent bike, and enjoy riding with my husband, by myself, or with a group. There is something I like about two wheels, and my newest vice is my motorcycle, a small Honda Rebel I learned to ride a couple of years ago.
